My classes started with a greeting with the students wherein it was a routinely activity in every class in Thailand regardless of what grade level. Next will be motivation which will hook the attention of the students. The classes that I have handled were very active and participative. Although it was very hard for both I and my students to communicate because of language barrier still I manage to rely to them the lessons that I want them to learn. The students taught me in vice versa of some Thai words. And after that, I will proceed to the discussion of the lesson. All of my lessons were story telling because I just followed the instruction of my cooperating teacher specially in Grade 5 classes. I used their students' book as reference. Their activities and exercises were also found in their activity book. They have separate books for stories and activities to answer. In lesson proper, I used several strategies including voice modulation, body languages and picture cues for the students to understand what the story was all about. During the discussion of the lesson, I included the lesson for grammar which was needed to taught simultaneously. I discussed the lesson through chunking so that the students will not be bombarded by the information which were new to them. On my first week in Chiengrak Noi School, my cooperating teacher was there to assist me and translate my lesson to Thai so that the students will understand but as the days progressed, I taught the class with myself to the best that I can. At the end of my lesson , I let my students to answer the activities on their activity book and instructed them to submit it to me for checking.

Time management and organizing activities

All the classes that I have handled both Grade 5 and Grade 6 only have 60 minutes time allotment so I really need to maximize the time to taught my lesson and of course to attain my lesson objectives for that day. I make sure that my activities will not consume much of the time. Sometimes I gave them enough time to write important notes that I have written on the board..

Problem Solving

In terms of problem solving, I just stand as their adviser. One problem that i have encountered with my Grade 5 students was that when I caught my boys students who were using their cellphones playing games while I was teaching in front of the class. I confiscated the cellphone and another problem was that the cellphone was just borrowed from their classmate who is a girl. My lesson was interrupted because of that. And since majority of my students do not speak conversational English, I was forced to call the attention of the Thai teacher who was also teaching on the other class adjacent to my room. The problem was addressed and the students who were playing mobile games during my lesson was given appropriate intervention.

Classroom Management

My students were very active and sometimes transfer from one seat to another. And during class discussion it was really disturbing to see students exchanging seats and talking to each other without paying attention. What I always did was to call the attention of that students and I roam around the classroom to make the students listen to my discussion. I also did graded recitation so that the students who were noisy will be given attention.
